Scottish Fishing expedition showcases new McMurdo Aberdeen office
Europe?s leading commercial fishing exhibition, held annually in Glasgow, Scotland, was a great success for McMurdo as the industry greeted the news of McMurdo?s new Scottish office warmly.
Dealers were immediately pleased with the benefits they will gain, of having local central support in this, a very busy commercial fishing region. It is often challenging for McMurdo dealers to operate a fast service in the more remote northern areas, particularly the offshore islands where logistics of shipping and delivery can often be tricky. Having a local service and supply depot will alleviate this to a very great extent in an industry where delivery is crucial to enable a vessel to go to sea on time.
The McMurdo Stand was well visited generally. This is the first time the Smartfind EPIRB was shown to the fishing public in Scotland - a key product for offshore safety. There was also a good amount of interest in McMurdo?s MOB (Man Overboard) Guardian, the new MOB Alert system, aimed squarely at commercial fishing crews.
McMurdo is now on course to increase its dealer base around the coast in Scotland both for sales and support for the McMurdo range distress of beacon and safety communications equipment range.
