  • EPIRBs
    EPIRBs - safety for your boat McMurdo have a long history of supplying high quality emergency equipment to the commercial shipping, IMO and SOLAS markets. The SmartFind EPIRB range continues this tradition with the most compact, technically advanced and robust unit to date. The non-hazardous battery makes shipment quick and easy ensuring that vessels are not unduly delayed, no matter where they may be, when a replacement unit is required. Smartfind EPIRBs are available in a manual bracket or a SOLAS approved automatic housing.
  • PLBs
    PLBs - for your personal safety The Fast Find range of Personal Location Beacons has many of the benefits of the 406MHz EPIRB. They operate on the 406Mhz global satellite rescue system ensuring that your emergency signal can be sent from anywhere in the world. They also transmit a 121.5MHz homing signal and some models benefit from a dedicated built in GPS which sends a highly accurate location position typically +/- 50metres within a few minutes of switching the unit on. This enables the rescue authorities to greatly reduce their search time. PLBs are registered to an individual rather than a vessel; this is of particular benefit if you are moving from boat to boat. Fast Find is compact, and a range of accessories ensure that you can safely move around without fear of losing the unit.   • Navtex
    Navtex NAVTEX is an IMO mandatory fit automatic maritime safety and weather information receiver. NAVTEX provides shipping and other marine users with vital navigational warnings, meteorological information and urgent safety information.
  • SARTs
    SART - assisting in the rescue and recovery of liferafts and survival craft A SART is a 'search and rescue locating device' designed to assist in survivor craft location during search and rescue operations.   The SART is primarily intended for fitment by SOLAS vessels under carriage requirement rules. SOLAS fitting rules differ depending on type and size of vessel and survival craft. In general, at least one search and rescue locating device is carried on each side of every passenger and cargo ship over 500 gross tons. Smaller SOLAS classified vessels are required to carry at least one search and rescue locating device. The SART should be stowed on board in a location where it can be rapidly placed in any survival craft. Once activated, the SART may be suspended inside the survival craft or mounted in an elevated position using the integrated extending pole.

    Grab Bags McMurdo offers a range of Grab Bags designed to meet the needs of the professional mariner. The standard Grab Bag is designed for use on light commercial vessels of workboats. Waterproof and buoyant it has plenty of space for emergency equipment survival supplies. The GRAB BAG XL is ideal for large commercial vessels. Features include an external EPIRB pocket and flare storage compartment.
