McMurdo safety equipment for 16 year old solo round the world sailor
Michael Perham was just 14 years old when he first sailed across the Atlantic on a 28 foot yacht in 2006. He and his support team - aka his father - ensured he was properly equipped with McMurdo’s emergency Smartfind EPIRB and Fastfind Personal Locator Beacon. He didn’t need to use them, but he wasn't taking any chances when he set off once again to attempt to sail into the record books last weekend, hoping to become the the youngest person to sail around the world single handed, at 16 years old.
