$800,000 order for McMurdo C1 Float Free Capsules
McMurdo is to supply an order worth $800,000 of a quantity of C1 S-VDR float free capsules to electronics systems supplier Comas, for integration into their Blue Ocean S-VDR systems.

Equine Ramblers sets up government petition to legalise PLB use
Support for legislation that will allow the use of a PLB or personal locator beacon to be legally used in the UK to get emergency assistance has been taken up by Equine Ramblers UK, a group of long distance horse riders who have set up a petition on their website. New attempt by north Atlantic rowers despite McMurdo rescue!
Peter Bray is preparing a new boat for a single-handed attempt on the North Atlantic route from Newfoundland to Britain. This is despite being rescued after activating his McMurdo EPIRB three years ago.

Another Woodvale competitor rows safe with McMurdo
As part of McMurdo’s support for the Woodvale Rowing teams, another pair have also been supplied with McMurdo’s safety equipment. Two Cornish gig rowers will begin their adventure to row across the Atlantic Ocean in aid of Cornwall Hospice Care.

Ladies pair in transatlantic rowing bid
Rachel Smith and Lin Griesel will be taking on the challenge of a lifetime when they set off from La Gomera, Canary Islands, in December 2007 in their bid to smash the current British women’s record for rowing across the Atlantic as part of the Woodvale Challenge Atlantic Rowing Race.

Navimo Trade Show good for McMurdo
McMurdo spent two days in October at the small but supremely potent trade show run by worldwide equipment distributor Navimo. From this several hundred orders of EPIRB related products (a mixture of Smartfind EPIRBs and Fastfind PLBs) were generated, although at the time of going to press the exact figure has yet to be confirmed.
