Prestige NMMA Award boosts sales
Following McMurdo’s important milestone win of the prestigious NMMA Aftermarket Electronics Innovation Awards at the USA’s key marine trade show MAATS (Marine Aftermarket Accessories Trade Show) just a few weeks ago for their SmartFind Plus 406 GPS EPIRB, the product has enjoyed a significant boost.

Fastnet preparation included McMurdo EPIRB
The editor of leading sailing website www.TheMainSail.com, Cathy Brown, like many other yacht owners, included a McMurdo EPIRB as part of her meticulous preparation for this year's Fastnet in her Grand Soleil 40, Brave, but was forced to join numerous other competitors in the shelter of Plymouth harbour not long after the start, during the huge gale.

Kayaking across the Arctic Circle
Dolphins and sea eagles greeted Liz and Simon Willis as they kayaked across the Arctic Circle off the coast of Norway. Throughout the trip, a McMurdo FastFind Plus was in the large rear pocket of Liz’s buoyancy aid, packed inside a small, flexible dry-bag and accessible with an over-the-shoulder lanyard.

Horse-riding association launches campaign to legalise land-based PLB use in the UK
Long distance horse riders are lending their weight to the common-sense call to legislate for PLBs to be used on land in the UK. The structure of the search and rescue system there means that it is still only legal to use a PLB like the McMurdo FastFind at sea. Find out how to add your support.
