Increase in PLB demand at Aero Expo
Following McMurdo’s announcement that the CAA have now accepted PLBs (Personal Location Beacons) as an alternative to the standard ELTs, as safety distress beacons to be carried on light aircraft, sales of McMurdo’s FastFind PLB have soared.

Cereal growers and sprayers get regular weather updates with Davis!
More and more farmers are being pushed towards ‘precision farming’, and, their agronomists (the scientists who advise them) are using detailed weather data to fulfil their tasks efficiently. This was the message being received at the recent Cereals 2007 show, when McMurdo, the UK’s exclusive distributor of Davis Weather stations, displayed the range of weather stations, sensors and accessories.

Rescue Congress views McMurdo
Three hundred of the world’s leading bodies that operate rescue services throughout the world gathered at the first World Maritime Rescue Congress, in Gothenburg, which drew to a close on June 8th. Products like McMurdo’s distress beacons and Navtex safety communications systems play a key role in supporting rescue operations, and the show was a valuable opportunity for the McMurdo range to be seen by so many key influencers.

Accident Watchdog advises MOB system use following boat death
Fish Update.com has reported that the Marine Accident Investigation Branch has advised salmon farming company Mainstream Scotland to supply all its crewmen with man overboard notification devices (similar to McMurdo’s MOB Guardian), following the tragic death of one of its employees in Shetland.
